The Dust Bowl affected an area of the United States known the Great Plains - an elevated plains region W cen United States & W Canada E of Rocky Mountains & chiefly W of 100th meridian extending from NE British Columbia & NW Alberta SE & S to include the Llano Estacado of New Mexico & Texas. (Merriam-Webster.com).
While the dust affected many area, the heart of The Dust Bowl was concentrated in western Kansas, the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas, and eastern Colorado and New Mexico as is seen on the map to the left.
